Below is a call-to-action email sent to Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation members in Colorado.
A longtime anti-hunting Colorado state legislator, with the backing of like-minded out-of-state interests, wants to remove hunting and fishing as the primary method of managing wildlife populations.
HB25-1258, ironically titled “Scientific Wildlife Management,” replaces the proven use of hunting and fishing with “the best available wildlife and ecological science,” which plays into the hands of animal rights groups and their extremist interpretations. This legislation would change state wildlife statutes, frustrate the practices of Colorado Parks and Wildlife biologists and game managers, and fly in the face of the North American Wildlife Conservation Model.
Just three months ago, outdoorsmen and women helped soundly defeat Proposition 127, an anti-hunting, anti-wildlife management ballot initiative. Please click here to take action and call on your elected representatives to do the same.
