Why do you hunt? What are the benefits of hunting? How does hunting help conservation? What kind of impact does hunting have on the economy? As hunters, there are so many questions we field about how and why we do the things we do. For some, answering those questions can be daunting.
The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation maintains that Hunting Is Conservation. You can find 25 reasons why hunting is conservation here. Those reasons include how hunters helped restore ailing wildlife populations, revenue generated via hunters through the purchase of excise taxes on guns and equipment as well as fees and licenses, and various other facts regarding wildlife management and overall participation numbers.
