Suppressors. They’re getting to be all the rage, and for good reason. Beyond protecting a hunter’s hearing, suppressors cut down on recoil, making even the stoutest magnums manageable for most shooters. The only downside of some suppressors is the extra weight and length they add to the end of your rifle barrel. That’s where Nosler’s SR-30K “K-Can” suppressor comes into its own.

Designed by hunters for hunters, Nosler’s SR-30K strikes a balance between size, weight and noise reduction by building off Nosler’s proven, aluminum and titanium SR-30AlTi design. The K-Can, named after the German word “Kurtz,” meaning “short,” is two inches shorter and two ounces lighter than Nosler’s flagship SR-30AlTi and employs a proprietary baffle stack design for maximum performance in a minimalist package.

At 5.834 inches in length and weighing just 7.2 ounces, the K-Can’s lightweight and small footprint is perfect for both the ounce-counting backcountry western hunter and the big woods whitetail hunter trying to maneuver their rifle in a tree stand or ground blind.

Easy to attach and detach in the field, the K-Can incorporates the same attachment system as other Nosler suppressors and can be mounted either over a brake or direct-threaded to the muzzle with the use of the included adaptor.

The SR-30K is highly versatile due to its compatibility with rifles chambered in anything from .17 caliber up to the heaviest .308 caliber magnums. So, whether you choose to attach it to your .223 varmint rifle, your 6.5 Creedmoor or 300 Win Mag, you can trust the SR-30K will get the job done.

That said, even though the SR-30K is perfectly compatible with your favorite AR, the suppressor’s advanced, lightweight construction is not designed for long shot strings or rapid/full-auto fire. Always allow the suppressor adequate time to cool in between shot strings to maintain the integrity of the suppressor over time. For rapid-fire or full-auto applications, check out the Nosler “Ti” series of fully-titanium suppressors.

There are a lot of great suppressors out there, but for the serious hunter needing noise and blast reduction without sacrificing space and weight, the Nosler SR-30K (MSRP $729.00) gives you the best of both worlds.
