Plain and simple, it was just tuckered out. Wildlife officers with Colorado Parks and Wildlife received a call about a bull elk tangled in telephone cable. It happened somewhere in Jefferson County in the northcentral part of the state.
Two wires wrapped around the animals’ antlers were also wrapped around a nearby telephone pole. When officers arrived, the bull calmly stood about 20 yards from the pole. It was obviously exhausted.
Officers tranquilized the bull, checked its vital signs and removed the cable. When it woke up, it wandered back into the hills.
