Live in the central part of South Dakota? Need a place to get ready for archery season?
South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) recently installed an archery range on the Bourne Slough Game Production Area. It is open to the public and includes four targets – two at 20 yards, one at 30 yards and one at 40 yards.
“Archery has been growing in popularity,” said regional habitat program manager Ryan Wendinger. “This range provides an opportunity for new archers to develop their skills and for those more advanced to fine tune their bow before the fall seasons.”
Users are asked to only use field points on the existing targets, but are welcome to bring their own target for broadhead practice.
The range is located near the intersection of state highways 19 and 34 on the northwest corner of Lake Madison.
