The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and several other hunting and conservation organizations support a constitutional amendment that would protect the rights of people in North Carolina to hunt, fish and harvest wildlife. That measure will be on the November 6 ballot.
The amendment would promote wildlife conservation and management while also declaring that hunting and fishing are the preferred means of managing wildlife in North Carolina.
Currently 21 states, including all those that border North Carolina, have similar legislation passed and in place.
