A two-year-old wildlife overpass is successfully keeping animals off a busy Utah highway, and wildlife officials have proof. The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources recently posted video of various species using the walkway.

Crossing six busy lanes of Interstate-80 from Salt Lake City as the roadway enters into the Wasatch Mountains, the $5 million overpass is so far proving its worth. According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) reported vehicles struck and killed more than 100 animals in the immediate area before construction of the overpass.

Now, drivers can pass without danger to themselves or wildlife. UDOT officials ask that humans remain off the structure so animals will continue to use it.
